When buying an original Gillie Doll you are acquiring something truly unique, hand modelled by the artist. Either a one of a kind or reproduced in a very small edition, made by myself in porcelain or poured wax plus wax over porcelain. You are buying something extremely rare compared with mass produced dolls.

My dolls can be found in many private collections and museums world wide. I have been making dolls from all kinds of materials since I was a small child, spending many hours perfecting my art.

I studied fine art and fashion design before becoming a full time doll maker in 1975.

My first commercial dolls were made in poured wax, later they were also available in porcelain and wax over porcelain. I can also make portrait dolls from photos.

Many of my dolls have received prestigious awards from all around the world.

I have also been teaching dollmaking in the UK and overseas since 1983. I am a 3 star teacher for the GDS (Global Doll Society), also a member of the BDA (British Doll Artist Association) and ODACA (The American
Doll artist Council of America).

An interesting part of my work has been making dolls for films and TV.
